Stop worrying as Google has already updated the support page reflecting when it will not offer online and telephone support for the devices and how users can put it into use to make a decision. Google, in the past assured that its phones will receive android updates for a minimum period of two years at least and the security updates for minimum three years after they released. It is time to understand that once the security updates stop, the online support and the phone support also will stop.

Based on this information Google listed the support page, and till now it is standing true to its word. The Pixel and the Pixel XL were launched in 2016, and these will receive the latest Android updates by or before October 2018. They will also get security updates by October 2019, and this is the same month that Google will stop offering customer service.

Mountain View will also bring a halt to supporting the Huawei-made Nexus 6P and the LG-made 5X in the month of September 2018; this is after a year after they stop getting new OS updates. If you are an owner of a Nexus 6 or a 9, you will get security updates only until October this year and later, you will not be able to call or chat with Google even if you encounter issues with your device.
